Default Monk/Anyclass beat your Mirror Image with ease

Pump up Divine favor and smiting and have at least 6 healing prayers.
Get a good smiting staff 10-19 or 11-21, something close to this range.

Take these skills with you and only these skills.
Retribution, Divine Boon, Healing Breeze, and Balthazar's Spirit and Bane Signet.

Put Retribution and Divine Boon and Baltahzar's on before you step on the third stone and skip the cutscene.

Hit tab or whatever you use to target. Get the wand shooting the mirror.
Use Bane. He might use it first, doesnt matter. Use it when it recycles and keep the wand shooting. Hit Healing breeze as needed.

You will stay full health or at least 3/4 full if you apply the healing breeze as needed. Balthazar's will keep you with enough mana from his damage to heal.
Retribution , the wand and the Bane will kill him.

This combo works great for a primary healer ... highly recommended.

Blah, monks are too tough. They are meant to support team mates.

Still, a mesmer might be able to getcha with that combo. Backfire and remove enchantments and a few other spells that can really nail monks.

Does anybody have an opinion on how well monks work as a second prof for elementalists? With all the extra mana from energy storage, I am thinking that they might be more effective at healing than primary healers if they take ES and then just focus on monk skills. They will not have bonuses to healing from the monks primary attribute, but the healing they do they could do much more often.

A similar question is also proper for mesmer/monks. Put everything into fast casting, inspiration magic, and healing. You can heal more quickly than anybody else, and also steal mana when it runs low.

I haven't tried these myself (although I just made a e/m acting primarily as a healer isn't a role I have in mind for him---although there are always refund points...)

I just realized that my reply was stupid. I thought you meant monk/X could beat any X/Monk.

I haven't done the mirror self yet, so I didn't make the connection.

I used a similar strategy with my Ele/Mo yesterday. Fire just wasn't cutting it. She was shooting me with a wicked bow for 100+ dmg each hit, and my fire was just not hitting her back as hard.

This is the second time I've heard this strategy. I'll give this one a try. I've tried every strategy from use nuke spells like Chaos and Archane Echo to Load up your bar full of useless spells. no thing has worked yet. I'll try this.

Well I dunno about a primary monk.. but what my friends and I have all done is just bring along pure damage only. No heals, no buffs, nothing except attacks. Spam your attacks and kick ass.

DUDE THIS WORKS. I followd your instruction word for word and I ganked the mirror. I've tried tactic after tactic and this is the only one that works.

I put those spells on a went out to do some questing to get used to it. I wasn't used to using smite and enhacnment spells. After only one short quest I decided to try it. IT WORKS.

I realized tat I had not explored my characters full capability. MONKS CAN WILL MIRROR. There is much more to being a monk than a Heal-Bot.

Glad I could help. I spent 24 hours pounding my desk before I finally looked at all the spells closely and decided I had been shortchanging myself by not having smite. So I am thanksful to the devs for making this game as challenging as it can be.

Why does every thread regarding monks have to come down to NERF MONKS?!?!?

Just wanted to say, this is probably the best strategy for defeating your monk mirror that I have seen. It worked first time for me, and I got the bonus easily. Also, with five minotaur horns you can get a good smiting staff (max damage, req 9 smite) from the collector just outside Elona's Reach. I spent about half an hour farming Minotaurs outside Augury Rock with henchies, got the staff, got Balthazar's Spirit in Lion's Arch, and that was that.

I faced my mirror with a mo/w and used just brute strength.

I raised my swordsmanship stat to as high as I could, then equiped my best sword possible. As for skills, I had nothing but warrior skills, no heals or anything. Crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. luckily it worked.

waa? the easiest class to beat the mirror...

put

fire storm
meteor
meteor shower and that's it

cast it all on the mirror, hes NOT gonna move while he will cast those on you, but you CAN move from the AoE.

matter of 30 sec? =/

For my Mo/W pumped my swordmanship too, took sever, gash and pacifism. For the rest only rez skills and target other ally skills. Strike for the adren, put bleed and gash, then pacify. Just wait and see him bleed to death

Worked very good and fast for me!

if your mirror uses all the skills you have equipped....wouldn't it make sense to go fight your mirror without any usefull skills...

side note...if I have charm animal equipped...will my mirror have an animal as well? cuz I really don't want to have to fight my lvl15 wolf(or whatever he'll be by the time i hit 20, i'm 14 now)

The mirror has max stats & a good bow/axe depending if you go closerange. No pet for mirror and you. For rangers bring alot of traps & rituals, mirror wont use troll urgent/any other heal over time spell (dont bring stances).
